Perinatal Surveillance Supervisor
Acadiana CARES, in conjunction with the Louisiana Office of Public Health STD/HIV/Hepatitis Program, is seeking a full-time coordinator to manage statewide HIV and congenital syphilis perinatal surveillance activities: coordinate complete and timely case investigations; coordinate referral of cases to field for direct outreach or intervention as needed to help ensure appropriate follow up of pregnant women with HIV and syphilis and exposed infants; and data analysis of perinatal surveillance data to guide and support perinatal prevention activities. This position will also coordinate the formal review of perinatal exposures, participate in statewide planning activities, and facilitate perinatal workgroups to engage Prevention and Services team members to improve perinatal prevention activities and services for pregnant mothers. This position will also supervise the perinatal data entry and data management staff members.
Qualifications: Master’s degree in Public Health or related field preferred; strong analytical skills required with experience using SAS or equivalent software; demonstrated ability to manage MS Access databases; excellent communication skills. Prior work in HIV or congenital syphilis desirable.
